Tropical lemon balm or purple lemon balm is a medicinal plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It is endemic to Mexico. It reaches up to 60 cm in height with lanceolate and toothed leaves, flowers in the form of red clusters. Its main habitat is tropical deciduous and pine-oak forests. Its use is for medicinal purposes associated with diseases of the nervous system. Uses: Lemon balm infusions are an excellent calming, and taken before going to bed promote sleep. And inhalations made with essential oil or fresh lemon balm herbs are recommended to combat respiratory disorders such as coughing or hay fever.
